About
Pacific Grove Animal Hospital is a small, non-corporate, privately owned family practice. We are in a location with a long history as Peninsula Animal Hospital, established by Dr. Ted Hollister in 1959 and continued by Dr. William Cleary from 1991 to 2010. During its six-decade history as an animal hospital, it has provided veterinary care for all creatures belonging to three generations of the residents of Pacific Grove. Dr. Brynie Kaplan Dau is the new owner of the hospital and carries on the long tradition of comprehensive and compassionate health care for animals initiated by Dr. Hollister 62 years ago. Dr. Cleary has passed the baton of hospital ownership to Dr. Kaplan Dau, who grew up in Pacific Grove and lives here with her husband and eleven-year-old twins. Dr. Kaplan Dau has been practicing on the Monterey Peninsula for over ten years and is thrilled to be back in her hometown of Pacific Grove, where she grew up.
Pacific Grove Animal Hospital has an experienced, technically savvy, compassionate staff. We work with three 24-hour emergency clinics in the area to ensure your pet is covered during evening and weekend hours. We also do not close mid-day as others do, so there is no interruption in care during business hours. We are proud to be a GOLD Certified Cat-Friendly Practice through the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) where Dr. Kaplan Dau is a long-term member and is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), maintaining a standard of excellence in veterinary medicine. We are also USDA accredited for international and domestic health certificates.
