Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove blends relaxed elegance with a distinct sense of place, drawing inspiration from the environment and spirit of our Monterey Peninsula home. The name “Mirador” itself, Spanish for “lookout” or “viewpoint,” pays homage to our coastal setting and reflects the hotel’s ethos—to offer perspective, pause, and presence. Of course, the ocean views don’t hurt, either.
The architecture of our new build boutique hotel nods to the quintessentially Californian Spanish Revival forms, and Mirador’s layered interiors, a comforting mix of natural materials and cozy textiles, imbue our common spaces, as well as our tranquil retreats, with a tactile, residential warmth. This warmth isn’t just in the design of the hotel, but in our intentional, intuitive service and enticing amenities meant to enhance every part of your stay.
At the tip of the Monterey Peninsula, classical Victorians are perched on tree-lined streets, monarch butterflies congregate in fragrant eucalyptus groves, and cypress trees sway in the ocean breeze. This is idyllic Pacific Grove, known as “America’s Last Hometown,” where you’re invited to slow down, take it all in, and move with the pace of your coastal environs. Unhurried but not sleepy, Pacific Grove offers up eclectic attractions including the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, Point Pinos Lighthouse, Pacific Grove Golf Links, Asilomar State Beach, Lovers Point Park, and the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History. Around the periphery of the city, the 18-miles Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail showcases scenic views of ocean and wildlife. In the heart of it all, you’ll find Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove. We’re your soulful homebase for exploring the countless wonders to be found in Pacific Grove, around Monterey Bay and all along the Central California coast.

These images of Kimpton Mirador Pacific Grove tell the story of our deeply rooted connection to our Monterey Peninsula home. You can see it in the quintessentially Californian Spanish Revival-inspired architecture with its arched openings, terracotta rooflines, and hand-plastered walls. You’ll notice it in the tangible influence of The Monterey coast’s natural splendor on the textures and furnishings found in our indoor and outdoor spaces. Our hotel photo gallery invokes the same feelings we hope a stay with us will echo—those of elevated coastal comfort, serenity, and a sense of wonder.
