Pet Services Nonprofit Organizations

Friends of Hitchcock Road Animal Services (FoHRAS) is an all-volunteer 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the animals and programs of Hitchcock Road Animal Services (HRAS), the primary Animal Services Municipal Agency in Monterey County. Through engagement and support from our generous animal-loving community, FoHRAS helps advance key strategic goals beyond its basic operating budget.
We believe in a Monterey County where animals and people thrive together. By raising vital funds and community care, we support Hitchcock Road Animal Services (HRAS) in strengthening this shared vision.
At Friends of Hitchcock Road Animal Services, we believe in the power of friendship—between people, animals, and communities. Because that's what friends are for: to care, support, and uplift each other. Our core values guide us in being the kind of friends that animals and their caretakers can rely on. By embracing compassion, partnership, and service, we live out our slogan every day.
Friends of Hitchcock Road Animal Services (FoHRAS) collaborates closely with Hitchcock Road Animal Services (HRAS) leadership and engages community members to mobilize support, advocate, and raise funds for HRAS.
We host community fundraising events, encourage donations, and apply for grants to support the animals of Monterey County. As a volunteer-driven organization, all funds raised by FoHRAS are directed to HRAS to fund vital programs that benefit our local animals. We rely on the generosity of our community to make a meaningful difference.
