Once upon a time, there was a French-born guy who came to Monterey to teach French at the Defense Language Institute, where he was awarded the Coin of the Commandant *. After teaching he attended the Ferrandi Parisian Pastry School in France-Paris to perfect the baking skills he learned from his mother. Upon his return to the Peninsula, family and friends encouraged him to share his baked goods with the community. Thus “french-baker” was born.
