St. Mary's will host a staged reading of Carol Marquart 's play, An Interview with Elmarie Dyke.
Elmarie Hurlbert Hyler Dyke (Citizen of the year in 1975) will give her first and only television interview on KPEG TV on June 3, 1975. She will offer stories about important people she knew such as Ed Ricketts and Pacific Grove Mayor, Julia Platt. Elmarie Dyke will also highlight her important civic contributions which includes but, is not limited to, the creation of The Feast of Lanterns festivities and her willingness to volunteer for just about everything.
This is a woman with incredible community spirit. Included in this interview are Elmarie’s opinions and recollections about life in “The Last Home Town,” between the years 1913 and 1975. No doubt, many people still living in the area knew her well.
