Description

The Pacific Grove Community Garden will host a special Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 22, noon to 3 p.m. at 210 Ridge Road near Lighthouse Ave., behind the P.G. Adult School campus.

The Earth Day celebration will offer fun for all, including a garden tour featuring information about succession planting, worm composting, and pollinator gardens; Appalachian tunes performed by local musicians; Children’s Garden Hour; and Performance Art by the BiG SuRCuS. Refreshments will be served. Community Garden members will also kick off a new urban farming program for Pacific Grove families. PG GROWS HEALTHY will teach local residents how to plant healthy food in their home gardens. The pilot project will be offered to local households who will be mentored by garden members. Sign up for the project on Earth Day and win an instant home garden, with a planter box, organic soil, and seeds!
