The Witty Premise
The year is 1947, and the Lighthouse Cinema is hosting a glittering awards gala—The Golden Reel Awards—attended by the finest (and most cutthroat) figures in film. The evening takes a sharp turn when Augustus "Gus" Graves, the most feared, venomous, and universally loathed cinema critic in Hollywood............ is found dramatically slumped over his notepad in the balcony box!!! The cause of death? An unfortunate run-in with a decorative, antique, silver-plated award statuette. The suspect list is long, as Gus had a sharp pen and a talent for making enemies.
