After a two-year hiatus, Butterfly Days returns this year with a full schedule of events for its 2022 festival and as John Steinbeck described this iconic Pacific Grove event – it’s a Hooptedoodle!

 Friday – September 30, 2022

Welcome!
Butterfly themed evening with a carnivalesque atmosphere
Downtown Pacific Grove - 5:00 – 8:00 pm

Saturday – October 1, 2022

Butterfly Parade & Bazaar – 10:30 am
Robert H. Down School – 485 Pine Street

Mayor Bill Peake Introduce Pictorial “Life in Pacific Grove” – 11:30 am
Chautauqua Hall, 16th Street at Central Avenue

Painting Wooden Butterflies – 1:00 – 4:00 pm
PG Art Center, 568 Lighthouse Avenue

Ceremonial Blessing of the Monarch Grove Sanctuary 1:00 pm
Ridge Road off Lighthouse Avenue

Sunset Celebration at Point Pinos Lighthouse – 5:00 – 6:30 pm
80 Asilomar Avenue across from PG Golf Links Clubhouse

Two 1-hour semi-final matches. Winners advance to Sunday’s championship game.

Create a short using green screen technology.

Visit a variety of exhibits about some of Pacific Grove’s wildlife, plants and organization.

Join us to paint and color, listen to stories, and take selfies with the giant monarch and special frames.

Pancake Breakfast – 9:00 – 1:00 pm (Sponsor by the Kiwanis) Caledonia Park, Central at Congress Avenues. Proceeds benefit Youth Ambassadors of Pacific Grove

David Laws talks Secrets of the Monterey Peninsula – 2:00 pm
Chautauqua Hall, 16th Street at Central Avenue
David Laws will share some of Pacific Grove’s secrets. Book signing following.

Create a Fall Pollinator Garden – 1:00 pm
Museum of Natural History, 165 Forest Avenue at Central Avenue. Learn how to create a garden that attracts monarchs.
