Happy Girl Kitchen “Tween and Teen Welding, Carving and Cooking! Santa Cruz Redwoods"

Saturday, April 29, 2023 (10:00 AM - 4:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

A day on an epic property in the Santa Cruz Mountains! The day begins with a circle up and orientation. Then we head down to the shop to work on a wood carving - and each participant will take home their creation. Next, we journey up to the kitchen to make lunch together and learn some basic cooking and prep skills. After lunch we go on a hike through the redwoods and creeks. Next, we head back to the shop for some metal work and create a sculpture that we will take home. This one-day event can help satisfy a desire to learn wood carving and metal working from a local master. It can also be a great way to see if the summer camps are a good fit for you! Learning these hands-on skills can really be a confidence booster for people and encourage them to engage in life in a different way! Teachers are Jordan Champagne - founder of Happy Girl Kitchen and she studied to be a Walldorf teacher and leads culinary camps at Happy Girl. Robert Seals inventor and founder of Kleene Kanteen and Mother Nature's temple and his wife Susan O’Neil. The camp will be on their property in which they have created a perfect environment for kids to make art and connect with nature. All three have been working with kid’s camps for over 10 years and have a wonderful way of empowering kids and creating a mindful environment. Ry Champagne is also a counselor who is a graduate of the program and has led summer camps for the past two years. This camp is designed to be low tech and so cell phones will be parked at a central location and used only during agreed upon times. Email: Jordan@happygirlkitchen.com with inquiries. Register
