China's Belt and Road Initiative How China's Economic Policies are Changing the World Under President Xi Jinping, the Belt and Road Initiative to develop an expanded, interdependent market for China became China's grand strategy of the 21st century. China's rise exerts an ever-greater influence on international affairs. Is China an opportunity or a threat ? What does China want ? How should the global community meet the challenges of "China stocks" and "dragon in the room ?" Professor Liang will discuss the Belt and Road Initiative and how its projects are impacting the developing world. She will also address how the ongoing Ukraine war and U.S. - China trade war affect China's policy choose and calculations.
