Description
The Dalai Lama: Leadership & the Power of Compassion presented by Dr. Ginger Chih, Author and Documentary Photographer, Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, Dinner Lecture - 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM.
The Dalai Lama fled from Lhasa to India in 1959. Since then he has devoted his life to providing leadership to the Tibetan diaspora of some 150,000 Tibetans living in exile throughout the world. He has also become a global citizen and one of the most highly respected spiritual leaders of our time.
This year, the Dalai Lama turned 90 years old. This birthday holds special significance for Tibetans, as the Dalai Lama has previously said he would convene with senior Buddhist leaders to discuss the future of his reincarnation upon reaching this age. In a richly illustrated presentation, Dr. Ginger Chih will draw on her book, The Dalai Lama: Leadership and the Power of Compassion, to explore the culture and everyday lives of Tibetans in the exile communities. She will also highlight how the Dalai Lama's leadership and world view have been guided by the principles of his Buddhist faith.
