The Birchbark Foundation presents: Home Alone: Helping Your Dog with Separation Anxiety Webinar
Tuesday, November 18, 2025 (6:30 PM - 7:30 PM) (PST)
Description
We get it: our dogs want to be with us all the time. Truthfully, we feel the same way. That bond is one of the greatest joys of sharing our lives with dogs. But for some dogs, being away from their people can cause intense distress. Separation anxiety is one of the most common and misunderstood behavioral challenges that dogs and their guardians face. A dog who is destructive, vocal, or who soils the house when alone isn't doing so out of spite; they are truly panicked and are responding the only way they know how.
In our next free webinar, Rebecca Lane, lead separation anxiety trainer at the Sacramento-based Tug Dogs, will join us to help us understand: ~ what separation anxiety is (and isn't!), ~ common signs and triggers, ~ how to avoid amplifying your dog's anxiety, and ~what you can do to gradually help your dog feel safer when alone. Separation anxiety is immensely challenging for dog and owner alike, but it is not hopeless. With a deeper understanding of what our dogs are experiencing, patience, and a methodical approach, progress is possible.
Join us to learn how to support your dog and strengthen the bond you share.
